Double Serial Card
DESCRIPTION
The PCMCIA DoubleSerial (S2S) PCMCIA card integrates two high speed serial ports in one dual function card. Both Serial I/O's 16550 UARTs have built-in data buffers, allowing Windows and OS/2 users to run fast modems (14.4Kbps and above) at full speed without wasting bandwidth re-transmitting missed characters. Two industry standard DB-9 connectors are included to connect your portable computer to serial peripherals such as medical and scientific data collection equipment, label printers, bar code scanners, stenographic machines and external fax/modems.
With the DoubleSerial, portable computer users can have simultaneous access to two serial peripherals and transfer different data using dual high speed RS-232 serial ports.
PCMCIA compatibility and Plug and Play features are assured with full support of all major Card and Socket Services software vendors. A full set of direct enablers are also included to support all major socket controllers.
The DoubleSerial card represents important cost and resource savings to the user. At a price which is equivalent to the price of other single serial port PCMCIA cards, the user requires only one PCMCIA slot to add two simultaneously operative serial ports to the computer.
