Antennas and Cables

BreezeNET PRO.11 products are supplied in two models, standard and "D". They are identical except for their antennas.
Standard models are supplied with two integral 2 dBi omni-directional antennas. These antennas are intended for indoor installations with short to medium distances between sites.
The "D" model is supplied with two customized female connectors for use with the following range of external antennas:
2 x 6 dBi omni-directional transmit/receive antenna sets.
2 x 8.5 dBi uni-directional transmit/receive antenna sets.
Single transmit/receive 18 dBi uni-directional antenna
Two transmit/receive external antenna sets are available
2 x 6 dBi omni-directional antennas
2 x 8.5 dBi uni-directional antennas.
These sets are suitable for all indoor applications as well as for most outdoor short to medium range ground level applications where antenna diversity is required. Both are supplied complete with cables.

Omni-6 dBi antennas are intended for indoor or outdoor installation with greater distances between sites. The set includes two omni-directional 6dBi transmit/receive antennas together with the appropriate cables and connectors.
3 meters RG-58 cable complete with assembled connectors
SMA male connector on one end connects to the WB-10D.
N-type male connector on the other end connects to antenna.

The 8.5 dBi antenna has a wide beam width (75 degrees horizontal, 50 degrees vertical) and is intended for both indoor and outdoor installations for short to medium distances between sites. The set includes a Transmit/Receive 8.5dBi directional antenna with appropriate cables and connectors.
6 meters RG-58 cable complete with assembled connectors:
SMA male connector on one end connects to the WB-10D.
N-type male connector on the other end connects to antenna.
The cables supplied with the antenna sets are generally sufficient for most window or wall antenna installations.
Extension cables of 5, 10, and 20 meters (Europe) or 10, 20 and 30 ft (USA) are available.
Detached antennas, whether installed indoors or out, are to be installed ONLY by experienced antenna installers that are familiar with local buildings and safety codes, and wherever necessary are licensed by appropriate government regulators. Failure to do so may void the BreezeNET Product Warranty and will certainly expose the end user to legal and financial liabilities. BreezeCom and its resellers or distributors are not liable for injury, damage or violation of government regulations associated with the installation of detached antennas.
Single High Gain Transmit/Receive Antennas
Single transmit/receive antennas are supplied with 18 dBi gain only . Various cable lengths are available for different applications. The 18 dBi model is used for rooftop installations.
Rooftop Installations
Rooftop antenna installations are extremely dangerous and incorrect installation may result in death, injury or damage. Rooftop installations must be performed by professional antenna installers only.
Rooftop installations provide several advantages:
They generally increase antenna range.
There are likely to be less obstacles in the path.
Height above the ground gives improved performance.
Multipath problems resulting from reflections from buildings, trees and variations in terrain are reduced to a minimum.

The 18 dBi antenna has a narrow beamwidth (14 degrees) which increases sensitivity to inaccurate alignment, but decreases the influence of multipath propagation (fading). It is intended for outdoor installations over medium to long distances.
It is supplied as a single uni-directional 18 dBi transmit/receive antenna together with the appropriate cables and connectors. It is probably the best choice for most medium to long range applications.
10, 15 or 20 meters low loss cable complete with assembled sections and connectors:
SMA male connector on one end connects to the WB-10D.
N-type male connector on the other end connects to antenna.
Extension Cables
Extension cables of 5, 10, 15 and 20 meters are available.

Adjusting External Antenna Alignment
All BreezeCOM external antennas are supplied with detailed assembly instructions. Follow these instructions as the first step in the physical alignment of your antennas. |
|
Omni-6 Antenna Alignment Position this antenna in its mounting bracket in any suitable vertical position. |
|
Uni-8.5 Antenna Alignment
Position this antenna vertically in its mounting housing on a wall or a window. It is generally sufficient to align this antenna ``by eye'' in the general direction of the remote site. The wide beamwidth of this antenna does not usually require finely tuned alignment. |
|
Uni-18 Antenna Alignment
These rooftop antennas require fine tuning using the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) test described in the user guides of the specific BreezeCOM products. Antenna Selection Guide The following guidelines will help you to select the correct BreezeCOM antennas for your BreezeNET D-model wireless bridge or access point.
